how to create a powerful and positive mindset

Do you ever ask someone how they’re doing and their answer is, “Meh, same old same old.” Not very inspiring or energizing, is it?

If you’re not careful (especially if you’re exhausted) you may feel meh, out of control, overwhelmed or even like a victim. Here’s a news update: feeling like that is not a requirement for living.

Life is not what happens to you. Life is the choices you make about what happens to you. Life is about creating the mindset you want, not allowing the world around you to dictate it to you.

How do you create a mindset you want?

Repetition, repetition, repetition.

Like any skill, the more you do it, the more you use it, the more it feels and becomes natural to you.

You can think whatever you want, so think what you want to think about yourself! This is a technique called My Power Statement.

Creating your Power Statement is very easy and will likely be invigorating, as you put into words the kind of person you want to be. I encourage you to think about these three arena: your “vertical” relationship with God, the relationship you have with yourself, and the “horizontal” relationship with others. I have listed a bunch of possibilities to get you started. Feel free to use as many (or all) as you feel will help you!

The most important step is to put Your Power Statement somewhere that you will see it EVERY day. The bathroom mirror, your car seat, or on your phone with a daily notification to read it aloud, if possible, with energy and confidence. The goal is not to feel these to be true but to aspire that they are true.

If you don’t believe it, who will believe it about you? Go for it!

My Power Statement:

My power is from the King of ALL Kings!

His power is within me to serve the good of others!!

He that is in me is greater than he who is in this world!

I am:
